Search your feelings, you know it to be true!

Ok... A lot of things were revealed today.

After going through a long series of levitating puzzles to get the magic leaf, we came across a story teller with a bombshell of exposition. It turns out that the great hero of legend is actually the leader of the evil "angles", the goddess they are trying to revive is his sister, the leader of the renegades was his friend, and the guy who was in our party but betrayed us was his other friend! So basically the 4 heroes of legend are currently a megalomaniac over lord, a ruthless terrorist, a back stabbing traitor, and a dead goddess, and all 4,000 years old, I hope my party ends up better...

So to get the last ingredient to heal the Chosen we have to go to the bad guy's base, and of course we get captured. We then break out and get to the dungeon like area of the base, and I spend over an hour running through corridors, unlocking doors, and navigating slippery ground puzzles... At the end of it we face off against the leader of the angles, who after being beaten reveals what his plan is. He split apart the worlds and set up the whole decline/rebirth system in order to keep everyone from advancing technology, since when he was a hero there was a huge magic war that nearly killed the planet. Also he has been collecting power so he can kill off all humans and elves and then convert the remaining half elves into mindless angles, so that once the population are homogeneous vegetables, there will be no reason for wars to ever happen again.

We then escape and visit the dwarf so he can fix up the Chosen. That night though another bombshell is released. It turns out the guy who betrayed the party (one of the legendary heroes) is also the real father of the main character, who was thought to be dead after killing his wife who turned into a monster. On top of that it's explained that to stop the main bad guy I need a magic sword that's tied to the father's life, so he has to die in order to save the world. Then it's revealed that the kid we found that was named after the legendary hero IS the legendary hero (AKA the big bad) and he's been spying on us the whole time.

Oh, and I think the chosen of the other world is planing to betray us, I'll find out tomorrow.
