After asking around to find out what was wrong with the Chose, we were told to check out the royal library, but since were wanted criminals in that kingdom it would be tricky. As luck would have it though, we happened to sneak into the city just in time to overhear the plot to kill the king for the pope. So after killing the assassins (without even a fight), we confronted the pope, and even though he escaped we manged to clear our name and save the king.
From the royal library we found that we needed 3 things: some ore from the science lab, a leaf from the elves, and a mana shard from the enemy's home base. The ore was a simple fetch quest, and the shard was saved for last, but the leaf is turning out to be an ordeal.
First we needed permission from the king to visit the elf village (good thing we saved him), but then we had to navigate a huge puzzle where we had to guide some fruit through a swamp by summoning animals. It took and hour to finish and even the character I was controlling said "That took forever!"...
Once that was done I still had to talk to the Elf chief to get permission to go even further into the forest for the leaf. So tomorrow it's off to find a leaf in a forest...
