Finished the first two areas and so far Mario Galaxy feels much more like a Mario game that Sunshine. It's completely a platformer with no real gimmicks tacked on, just the mind bending shifts in gravity.

The game play is not as hard as the bonus levels of Sunshine, which had the same weird gravity, but it's still early on in the game. So far there's been only one area that freaked me out, when going through a small corridor with a moving floor with holes in it I jumped over a hole but garbed a wall by mistake, then jumped backwards from it off the screen but managed to land on a solid area, then blindly jump back onto another solid area on screen.
