Persona 4 - Day 10

May 23rd

After school Tokka confronts the girl who wrote the love letter she gets so mad that Tokka read it that she storms off to tell the guy she likes her feelings directly, so the ema request wound up getting filled anyways. Back at the shrine the fox gets more donations and Tokka increases his social rank, so everyone is happy, but also the fox now gives Tokka a discount on his healing services as the ranks increase!

Back at home Nanako wanted to spend some time with Tokka, but it didn't advance his social rank at, maybe next time.

May 24th

A lot of drama today at Tokka's drama class. Everything started off well with Tokka's expression stat increasing another rank, but then a girl ran in and tells Yumi that her mother collapsed and was at the hospital. Tokka goes and checks if everything is ok and it turns out that it wasn't her mother but her estranged father that is critically ill in the hospital.

Yumi's mother is determined to stay by his side until the end, but Yumi can't forgive him for running off on them to be with another woman, and only coming back now when he's sick and the other woman left him. Tokka tries to console her but doesn't do a very good job, but it's enough to increase the social link rank.

Back at home the shoes Tokka ordered off TV arrived and he also got a bonus prize sticker (I have no idea what it does yet). Later that night I had Tokka study since he hasn't since mid-terms.

May 25th

This was the longest and most frustrating day yet! It started off well with finding a new quest where a student wanted demon statue from the castle dungeon, and then at the shrine getting a new ema request from some one who wants to quit snacks.

The first step of the request was easy enough to solve, the person who wrote it was standing a block away in front of the item store. She tells Tokka that she wants to try a snack so different that it would make her not eat any snacks any more. Also, right beside the girl is Namatame, the guy involved in the love triangle that was part of the first murder, I'm surprised he's still around.

So with not much else really to do I decide to take the gang back to the castle and finally finish off that jumbo king. Unfortunately he has other plans and unleashes rampage attacks almost ever turn, destroying the party despite all the blacking and healing. It was a good thing that I saved before facing the king.

After a couple more attempts I figured it was time for a new plan, so I took tokka to the velvet room and had 2 cards fused into a level 21 phoenix, the most powerful persona I could make at Tokka's current level, and with my sun social link from Yumi it leveled up to level 23 and gained rampage!

It was time to give the king a taste of it's own medicine, and luck was on the party's side since the king only used his rampage move a couple times. After a relentless battle the final blow was ironically enough a rampage attack from Chie.

Not only did the party get the normal exp and money from killing the king but Tokka got a increase in courage and Yukiko found a new super power fan! With the new gear and courage I figured I should continue the winning streak and storm the bath house again!

Starting from level 5 the party cleared every inch of that floor and the next, gaining many items and a couple levels in the process, then at the start of level 7 the party gets a message from Kanji that freaks Teddie out.

On this level the group meet shadow Kanji again and this time he has a massive version of the weird rainbow Hulk Hogan looking shadows. This mini-boss turns out to be rather easy though since he's weak to wind attacks and only hits once every 3 turns (although it is lethal when he does hit) so the team beat it in the first try. On a roll I continue through level 8 and up to level 9, gaining items and levels along the way, but then a stupid group of shadows surprise attacks the group and blasts tokka with fire (his weakness at the time) over and over until he's dead and the party doesn't have time to react! Now everything that had happened since the defeat of the king is gone! All those levels and items! ARRG!

So I take the party on a speed run from 5 to 7 and still manage to kill the mid boss with out the levels gained and then continued to level 8 again. There the party was ambushed by some stupid black whale things that induce fear on Tokka and the before he can heal they summon a shadow that casts a spell that kills any one with fear!

Once again it back to after the king, but this time the party doesn't even make it up to the mid boss! In my haste I didn't watch Tokka's heath and he was taken out by a stupid dice shaped shadow that exploded when it's heath was low!

So finally on the 4th try I get the team up to mid-boss, kill it, and then as soon as the entered the 8th floor I warped them out and saved at the TV realm entrance and called it a night!
