Finished off the first of the missions in the northern city of Blackwater, and it actually comes right from the government guys that took John's family. Also the situation isn't as simple as them extorting him to do their dirty work, they are also giving him a full pardon for his past crimes. though they do continue the tradition set up in Mexico that people in power are jerks.
After the mission I decided to get familiar wit the new area by tracking down some of the new wild life, and killing them. One of the trails to be an expert hunter involved killing 2 cougars with your knife, and considering that a cougar can kill you in one shot it's not an easy task. After many tries where I became cougar chow, I finally manged to kill 2 with a knife (taking lots of medicine to heal between encounters). To blow off some steam of all that frustration, I killed the next cougar I saw with the exploding shotgun... it evaporated!
