Grinded several more levels today, putting them all into health and stamina, and then took another stab at the rat infested cliff side shanty town since it was the only world that I haven't gotten to the second stage of.
Since I'm now about 30 levels higher than the last time I tried the stage, I found it quite a bit easier to get through. The many difficulty now is just avoiding falling to my death. I managed to get to the boss of the first area, a giant monster made of leaches that looked like Nullzilla from Reboot. Fortunately I had exactly enough arrows to kill it off before it could even reach me.
