Persona 4 - Day 15

June 16th

It's the last day before the school trip so Tokka and the girls do some grocery shopping the get the ingredients for the meal they have to make while camping, while Yosuke is off in another part of Junes getting some "secret supplies". The forbidding of the upcoming meal starts when Chie and Yukiko decide to make curry and add EVERY ingredient they can think of into it...

June 17th

After a long day of picking up garbage off the mountain Yosuke is looking forwards to the meal, Tokka not so much. Tokka tries to ward him about the contents of the food but he doesn't listen and eats it any ways, with expected results.

Tokka then tries to eat the food but lacks the courage of taking more than one bite (doubt he could ever have enough courage to eat it all). Having no other edible food the group tries asking a rather rotund student if they can share her ample provisions, she of course says no and that since she's on a diet she barely has enough for herself. At least the team doesn't have to worry about her being sent into the TV, unless the perpetrator has and extra wide screen.

That night Kanji sneaks into Yosuke and Tokka's tent since everyone else in his tent never showed. He tells them how King Moron was over heard getting drunk and continuing to make accusations about the murder victims, basically saying it was their fault. Before getting to sleep Yosuke's homophobic side gets the better of him and starts trying to ask Kanji if he is gay or not, since he's afraid to go to sleep in the same tent if he is (at which point I wanted to whack him in his stupid head).

Overly determined to prove his masculinity Kanji decides that the best way is to storm into the girl's tent. Meanwhile in Chie and Yukiko's tent, they are being kept awake by the snoring of Hanako (the girl who refused them food) and then they suddenly hear a sound approaching. The next thing that happens is that Chie and Yukiko enter Tokka and Yosuke's tent clamming that Kanji just ran into their tent and passed out (I bet Chie roundhouse kicked him as soon as he entered). Not wanting to sleep in the same tent as Kanji (although having no problem leaving him there with Hanako) they left their tent and almost ran into a drunk King Moron, and while trying to avoid him wound up trapped in the guy's tent who let them stay there until they can sneak out in the morning.

June 18th

Having finished all the clean up work the team goes down to the river, which is surprisingly vacant, for some swimming. Chie and Yukiko refuse saying that they would love to but they just don't have any swimsuits, but then Yosuke reveals his "secret supplies", a pair of swim suits just for them. By using Chie's own words against her, guilt about the ruined supper, and blackmail for saving them from king moron the night before, Yosuke is finally able to convince them to change into the suits.

The girls come back and I was surprised at the restrain that Yosuke showed in buying the swim suits (and for the artists who drew them). They were neither gaudy or revealing (for 2 pieces anyways) and actually suited the girls well, with green for Chie and red/white for Yukiko. Tokka manages to get in a complement towards Chie before Yosuke manages to mess everything up with a few crass comments that get them both pushed into the river.

When the girls comment how quiet Kanji has been he turns around with a bleeding nose, and while the girls take it as a sign of perverted thoughts and chuck him into the river, I think it's more a result from the injury that he sustained the night before. To top everything off it's revealed why the river is free of other swimmers, King Moron has been throwing up all morning up stream... >_<

June 19th

On the shopping channel this morning Tokka buys more fish since he already has several power belts. He then finds Kanji hanging out in front of his mom's textile shop and decides to spend the day with him.

They hang out in the local restaurant and it's not long before some off duty cop comes in and makes a stink about Kanji being there. Kanji then complains to Tokka about how everyone in the town sees him as just a violent thug, raising their social link. He then shows that he still has some changing to do when he threatens to tear the place down if his food isn't ready soon, catching himself he then says he means that he's going to renovate the hell out of the place. Back at home there's a news report about a celebrity idol who is taking a break from show business.

It turns out that it's the same girl as from the very first shot of the game (after the velvet limo), and it just so happens that she's from Inaba and will be spending some time in the area. It sure seems that she's the next victim....

June 20

The gang gather together at school and all have the same idea, that Rise is most likely the next victim. Between bouts of fanboying, Yosuke also determines that if she is the next victim that it rules out that the people targeted have some connection to the first killing, and they just need to be recently on TV and in the Inaba area.

After school Tokka spends some time with Yosuke, and they talk about the changes involved with moving from the city to the country, increasing their social link.

Back at home Tokka spends some time with Dojima who is making coffee for everyone, even Nanako (I wonder if it's common in japan for children to have coffee). While making the coffee he remissness about how when his wife was alive she would do all the cooking and making coffee was the only thing that he could do better, so it was his job around the house. This boosts Tokka's social link, but before they can all sit down together Dojima get a call from work and has to go, leaving Nanako alone (she has Tokka though).

Tomorrow it's preparing for Rise!

Persona 4 - Day 14

June 11th
After school Tokka hears some complaints that Kanji has started a gang and is bullying students. Not beveling this, Tokka finds Kanji (spying on the drama class for some reason) and they take a walk to the river side to talk about the rumors. Kanji denies the rumors and decides to beat up any bullies he can find to prove it.

Kanji also asks Tokka if they can hang out and talk about stuff another time, starting the emperor social link.

June12th

Before Tokka has a chance to check out the shopping channel Yukiko calls him up on his cell phone and asks if he can meet with her. She had finally made that food they shopped for earlier and she wanted him to be the first to try it, and in typical cliche style her food is completely inedible.

Nanako then comes over to see what's going on and asks to try some of the food, fortunately Yukiko is honest enough to admit that it's not good and doesn't let her try any. Before leaving to play with her friend (who for some reason I think will become relevant) Nanako says she's looking forwards to trying Yukiko's food when she gets good. Yukiko remains determined and Tokka's social link goes up a rank.

That evening Tokka surprisingly still had enough of an appetite to make potato salad for lunch for the next day.

June 13

On the way to school Tokka overhears some girls talking about how it's finally time to wear the summer uniforms at school, and apparently Tokka already got the memo since he's already in lighter clothes. At lunch I decided to have Tokka share his lunch with Kanji to help welcome him into the group.

After school while wandering around town Tokka bumps into again that creepy kid form another school, still complaining about how the police are messing up the investigation. Over at the shrine the Fox had a new quest for Tokka, seems that some family has lost their dog.

At the day care job Tokka didn't raise any social links but at least got another boost to his understanding. Then at home he spent some time talking with Dojima, but again no links were increased.

June 14th

It's a bland and rainy day, and Tokka hears some students talking about how they can plan to get out of the camping trip, personally I'm looking forwards to see what happens. Yumi didn't turn up at drama practice again so after school Tokka spent some time with her at the hospital, although their social link didn't increas.

Back at home Tokka spent some time watching TV with Nanako, but when it got boring he shows her a little magic trick. The trick was the old one where an elastic band appears to jump fingers by secretly looping it across all 4. At least this finally increases a social link!

June 15th

King moron goes on to prove how truly unlikeable he can be by blaming the deaths of the first two victims on them not being self sufficient enough. I wonder if there is any way to get this guy on TV and then INTO the TV >_<. After school Tokka spent some time with Ai (carrying her bags again) and was even mistaken for her boyfriend.

After shopping Ai mentions how she hates all sales people and just wished she could get all her stuff automated. I really hope that she develops a better personality as the social link increases... At least Tokka's social link went up a rank for putting up with her. Back at home Tokka Spent some more time with Nanako and she talked about how she misses her mother.

Tomorrow is the start of preparations for the school trip!
