Well after spending a considerable amount of caps on energy weapons (using the same wait 3 days approach as the food), I dried to inflict 10,000 points of damage. Turns out that it's a rather large amount and it's hard to find a group that would not kill you while you try to deliver it.
So after being killed by bodyguards, robot cops, deathclaws, ants, fiends, doctors, and super mutants, I figured to call it quits and just work on it in my free play play through.
