Persona 4 - Day 12

June 1st

The moth is starting off rather food orientated. First Tokka had lunch up on the roof with Chie, and as I figured she really liked the grilled beef (but then that might be the reaction of anyone if the food is cooked right), boosting their social link up a little. After school Yukiko invites Tokka to go with her to the Junes grocery department to pick up some ingredients.

Now that Yukiko is set on not inheriting the inn and moving out soon she has decided that she needs to learn how to cook for herself, and she wants Tokka to be her taste tester. Tokka agrees, although he didn't have the courage to do it enthusiastically, and Yukiko talks about how gaining her persona has really boosted her confidence. This exchange of course boosts their social rank.

A new upshot of this increased rank is that now Yukiko will at give a extra hit to any enemies Tokka knocks down, if I can get everyone to this rank then Tokka could get up to 3 extra hits onto his 1 attack! Back at home Tokka read his latest book which boosts his courage a little, maybe soon he can answer questions directly -_-;

June 2nd
Yumi didn't turn up at drama practice today Tokka decided to go to the hospital to see if she's there. It turns out that her mother has been over working herself balancing her job and taking care of Yumi dying father and she collapsed from exhaustion. Because of all this Yumi says that she may have to quit drama class to help her mother now, Tokka says he'll help her any way he can and their social link increases.

Back at home Nanako stumps Tokka by asking him why do people die, and he can't answer her since his expression rank is too low. Tokka then spent the evening reading his courage book in his room.

June 3rd
While walking around Tokka bumps into a guy with a quest for him, there is a stray cat around the river and he wants Tokka to feed it. The default thing a cat would like to eat would be fish, so Tokka goes down to the riverside where an old man gives him a fishing rod and instructions on fishing. Since it's raining the instructions say that he may catch a mighty fish, but in the end he only lands a gold fish.

After fishing Tokka heads straight home and there Dojima has a little surprise for him. Since Tokka did so well on the mid-terms Dojima gives him 20,000 Yen to spend on what ever he wanted. I wonder what he would think if he knew that money would go towards buying weapons in order to fight deadly shadows inside a TV to thwart the murder that he is trying to catch ^_^.

Tokka's expression rank is now high enough that he can have a mature discussion with Dojima. Dojima expresses how impressed he is with Tokka and their social link increases!

June 4th
It's the last day before the fog comes in, but since we saved Kanji nearly a week ago there's not all that much to worry about. The day turned out to be even more uneventful than expected when I decided to have Tokka try the toy capsule machines that only work when it rains, it turns out that to get 1 toy it takes all day! Then in the evening Tokka went straight to his room to check the Midnight Channel to make sure they stopped the killer, and of course they did.

That night in the shopping district our mysterious villain was having an equally uneventful time with finding out that he failed to kill again. Gee, sucks to be you killer :P

June 5th
On the shopping channel this morning I had Tokka but some fish. Why fish? Because the other item was somethign I already had and fish sees to be necessary for some quests. Speaking of fish quests, Tokka gave the gold fish to the cat today and the completed that quest today. While exploring around the town I was surprised to see Adachi hanging around Junes, he says that he was just getting some groceries but it seemed a bit off. Is Dojima having him tail us? won't do him much good since we can't go into the TV till Kanji is better.

Tokka finds Chie in the main shopping district and for some reason has the idea to ask her about the odd snack quest. I wouldn't have thought of that but his instincts turn out right since Chie just happened to have some of her own favorite snack on her, Meat Gum! Man, I knew she was a carnivore, but MEAT GUM?! The snack does do the trick, which I imagine is sort of a soft any really chewy jerky, and gives the girl who made the wish somethign to think about next time she craves snacks!

To thank Chie for the Meat Gum Tokka spends the afternoon training with her. While training Nanako comes by and notices a grasshopper on Chie's jacket, this completely freaks Chie out! It turns out that fearless fighter Chie is entomophobic. While she is quite embarrassed about this she is glad to hear from Tokka that it does kinda show her feminine side, boosting the social rank and gaining the extra hit bonus.

That evening Tokka read more of his courage book and increased his courage rank again! Now that he's "brave" maybe he can give straight answers to people.

Tomorrow Kanji should be back to school and there's lots to do!
