Close call

Starting right off with the infected attack that I ended on last time. After killing a few swarms of  various infected, Ellie and David (the dude that is trading antibiotics for the deer), run from the shack they are in to try and find some place better to hide. Eventually they reach a dead end where there is only one way in or out, so they make a final stand there. It's not long before infected are coming in from all over, include the roof, and it's a tight fight to make the ammo last. One odd Clicker didn't even want to die after being killed...

Flail!

The final wave of infected includes a Bloater, but a Molotov cocktail makes  quick work of it once again. After the fight, Ellie and David check on the deer and warm up by the fire. That's when David reveals that he's part of the raider group that's Ellie and Joel was ploughing through last season, and he's recognised that Ellie was the girl giving them some much trouble. He doesn't seem that mad about though, but Ellie on the other hand is instantly on guard.

May want to shoot him now and save the trouble.

The other guy gets back and David trades the meds for the deer like promised. Ellie rides back to where she's been hiding out, and Joel's alive! Well, somewhat. The stomach wound was roughly stitched up, but it's likely infected (not the spore kind thankfully) and he has a fever. Ellie jabs him with the antibiotics, then takes a nap beside him as he sleep.

But she's soon woken up by the sound of people outside. David's raiders had tracked her down and are after her, so she hops on her horse and rides to lure them away of Joel. The raiders quickly give up on their orders to take Ellie alive and soon open fire.

One last ride...

One of the shots hits the horse and kills him, forcing Ellie to sneak around on foot. These raiders are thankfully easy, as one arrow or rifle shot will take them down. After stealthing about and killing all the dudes, Ellie makes her way to a hunting lodge where the sun does weird things...

Day... night... day... night...

I'm figuring that the game is trying to apply the lighting from the inside of the lodge while Ellie is still on the outside. Trippy.

Ellie sneaks through the lodge, killing more guys, but before she can escape David catches her and knocks her out. She later wakes up in a cell, to the sound of a raider chopping up a dead body, presumably for food. Then David comes in and tries to be all nice.

Real name, Creepy Mc.Creeperson

He offers to spare Ellie's life if she agrees to become part of his group. Considering how many of his guys she's killed, he sees her as a very valuable asset. There's also kinda a pedo vibe going on too, it's gross. Ellie give the appropriate response of breaking his fingers through the bars and telling him to go fuck himself. This unfortunately changes Davids mind on Ellie, and puts her on the 'cut her up and eat her' category.

Back at the hide out, Joel wakes up (meds apparently did the trick) and starts staggering around to find Ellie. He soon stumbles (literally) across some of the raiders still hanging around the area. After killing the hell out of a bunch, he knocks out two of them and drags them back to the hide out for a chat about Ellie's location.

Knives and crowbars are great for breaking the ice, and kneecaps.

After torturing and killing them, Joel heads out to the town that the raisers are held up in.

Meanwhile, Ellie is the neck one up on the chopping block, but she thinks fast and bites David. She then announces that she's infected, showing her old bite wound, and thus David is too now. This distracts the raider with David enough for Ellie to grab butcher knife and ram it in his throat. Making a mad dash away from David, Ellie escapes from the building and into a snow storm only armed with a switchblade.

Lovely weather we're having...

Ellie makes her way slowly through the Raider town, stealth stabbing many on the way and picking up a pistol in the process. Eventually she reaches some kind of western style bar/restaurant but David catches up with her and is pissed. This starts a very tense game of hide and seek, where David is trying to find Ellie to kill her, while Ellie is trying to snake up on him to kill him for the keys to get out. All the while the restaurant is on fire and covered in broken glass, so Ellie has to where she steps and try not to cough.

After sneaking and stabbing David three times (it's always three in boss battles), he knocks her out just as he loses consciousness from blood loss.

The game then switches back to Joel as he invades the raider town, in the same snow storm. Joel may suck at darts, but he can head-shot a dude with an arrow at 50 meters in low visibility and blowing snow! Some of the raiders looked cold in the blizzard, so Joel helped them warm up with the flame thrower. Along the way, Joel comes across Ellie's back pack in the same room as the raider's "meat" locker, filled with strung up bodies. Now he's even more pressed to find her.

These Raiders know how to decorate like the Fallout ones.

Once all the raiders running about were dead, Joel spots the burning restaurant.

Switching back to Ellie, she wakes up just as David is also coming around. Spotting her switch blade under a chair, she begins to painfully crawl towards it. Unfortunate, David has more life left in him than she does and starts kicking her in the gut, teasing her that she should just give up. Flipping Ellie over on to her back, David straddles her and start choking her. While flailing about, Ellie grabs David's machete and goes full Tommy Jarvis, hacking at his head like crazy.

She's only stopped by Joel showing up and pulling her away.

They have a tearful reunion where the music gradually builds and the sound fades. As they leave the burning restaurant the screen fades to black.

One more time skip.

It's spring now. The general mood seems to be lighter, as they are getting close to the hospital that the Fireflies were supposedly moving their lab to. Yet Ellie seems to be spacing out more and is kinda out of it. May just be from all the trauma she's been through, and hopefully not something more serious.

The better mood and nice weather is short lived though, since the first camper they come across has the clear sign of some one killing their spouse and children before taking their own life. Everything still sucks in this world.

Again with the dead children!
