PSIII is rather different than the previosu two, it's almost like a difretn game that just ahd the PS title slapped on.
The graphics are very different, the characters are fully detailed, the monsters are in dynamic poses and not just straight on, even the buildings are to scale within towns. The menu system is very different, in stead of super imposed on the main view, now the whole screen changes to a 2x3 grid of windows looking like playing cards. The number of party members has been increased from 4 to 6 and monster encounters now happen on 2 rows with several kinds at a time. A really odd thing is that the poison status effect now does not slowly drain your health (like in every RPG) it only prevents the character from healing. Also the magic system has a random element to it, so half the time a revive spell won't do anything but drain MP.
The story starts off as prince Rhys is about to get married to a blue haired woman that washed up on the shore mysteriously a while ago. Before they can tie the knot though, a dragon kidnaps the woman and teleports her to a distant world. The prince then travels from world to world through space bridges found in caves, and collects party members along the way while solving obstacles in his way to his fiance.
Currently the arty consists of Rhys, two cyborgs made 1000 years ago called Mieu and Wren, a mysterous man named Lyle, and a female thief called Lena that helped Rhys escape his castle to find his bride. They all are off to activate a weather controll tower to put the moon back in it's right lace so that they can advance to the next world.
