Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon – Day 2

Another Monday, another stab at the mega dungeon. Now though i figured out how to take screen caps larger than the little post-it notes before (now click to enlarge), but first off a little description of the game mechanics...

The game is basically a dungeon hack, during the action parts you navigate a randomly generating dungeon built on a grid, and it's kinda turn based since after each time you make an action everything else makes an action (or 2 depending on speed). There are 4 option Chocobo has on each turn: Move (with the D-pad), Attack (With the 2 button), use an item (A+1), and use an ability (A+2).

The abilities differ based on what job class you use, and there are 10 available job classes:
  • Natural - High power attacks.
  • Knight - Higher defense and a wider range of attacks.
  • Dragoon - Short distance attacks.
  • Dark Knight - Dark magic attacks and magic
  • Ninja - Speed and stealth boosts and attacks
  • Thief - Stealth boost and gil boosting moves.
  • Scholar - Information and item boosting skills.
  • Black Mage - Black magic spells.
  • White Mage - White magic spells (my favorite).
  • Dancer - Close area attacks.
Also to help with general attack and defense there are saddles (armor) and talons (weapons) you can collect, power up, and apply attack and status modifiers to.

The story aspect of the game (which I am finished) takes place on an open world area where you have no access to your abilities but you can talk with people, access other dungeons, and manage your items and weapons. Also there are mini games like fishing, arcade games, and flower growing (for power ups).

Ok now on the the quest at hand!

4th attempt: I'm going to try a strategy of killing everything and powering up as much as possible on the way to the final boss (Bahamut).
80 - So far so good, cleared the floor, got some items and even left by a mini cactuar dueling room (mega xp).
81 - Cleared the floor, but i need to keep an eye on my HP and only fight 1 monster at a time.
82 - After several long battles i cleared the level too. My poison attack does more damage than my psychical attacks...
83 - Yes! level 75! now only 25688 XP to go for the next level... for the rest of the floor I took too long to fight other monster and i had to leave before death showed up.
84 - Managed to clear this floor too, but this is takign forever...
85 - NOOooo! a bomb kileld me! all my items are gone! at least i keep my level...

This method didn't seem to work, took too long and the amount of XP needed to level up is insane. I'll try somethign different next time...
