I went back to the first level, which was now rather easy, and was able to collect up enough souls to get the rest of a new set of armor, and also level up my character a bit. Then I checked out another world which seems to be a castle on a mountain top filled with living metal skeletons.
This world finally seems to be at the level of difficulty that my character is ready for, since I can take out the skeletons with reasonable challenge and get a decent amount of souls from them. Also in the middle of the court yard was a giant 3 eyed demon, but fortunately there was a sniper post just far enough away to shoot arrows at it with out it reacting. So I socked up on as many arrows I could carry (finding out that there is a weight limit) and upgraded my bow before taking it on, then about 60 arrows later the giant thing was dead before it even attacked once. I just hope it dosen't re spawn when I go back there...
