Went around collecting more CDs/tags/jumps today, and while going around I kept trying to find a really fast car to do the jumps with and to travel around town quicker. Finally I found one who's normal speed was faster than some cars with nitro on and had great handling, but the first one I found was needed for the chop-shop quest. So not wanting to track down another one of these cars, I took it to a garage and customized it, saving it as one of my personal cars, before bringing it to the chop shop. Unfortunately, it seems that the chop shop override the garage saving and that car, with all the modifications I payed for) disappeared!
Fortunately, while continuing to track down things I came across another one of those cars and saved it in the garage again, this time making sure it was saved. I then took it to a jump that was half the map away from the nearest garage and flew the car into the sea...
Tomorow I have get another car just to retrieve my good car and finish off the collecting.
